That's a wrap folks!

It’s true what they say, time flies when you’re having fun and this summer has truly flown by! Through our camps this summer we’ve seen kids and students give their lives to Christ. We’ve celebrated our brothers and sisters coming into new life in Christ by way of baptism. We’ve heard stories from our church families of how they continue to see the power of Christ in their lives every single day, and we believe that God is not done yet! It may sound cliche, but it’s truly what we believe - God is doing an amazing work here at our Church!

This time last year we were navigating the great adventure of gathering together for Sunday mornings, worship nights, and virtual meetings; all in the midst of strict COVID restrictions and protocols. It is truly by God’s sustaining grace that we have not only gathered together safely, but continue to see more people coming to be a part of all that God is doing here at Apex Baptist. During that time, we introduced more stringent protocols for two reasons:

  1. We were determined to continue worshipping together and preaching the gospel safely during a global pandemic. We worked to create options for everyone - whether in-person or online.
  2. We wanted to heed the call of leaders around the world and our own elected officials to take action to slow the spread. The expectation was that we should act with an abundance of caution to prevent spread and love our neighbors well.

As we are quickly approaching a busy fall schedule, we want to continue doing our part in looking out for one another (Phil 2:4) and honoring our call to be devoted to loving each other earnestly, and to honor others above ourselves (Romans 12:10). As a church family we have the opportunity to do so by being extra vigilant in following the protocols that we have in place during our large gatherings. We are committed to leading by example as we increase our safety posture during our time of worship on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, and any other large gatherings here on campus. This means that starting this week we will be:

  1. Continuing additional cleaning protocols
  2. Providing sanitization stations in prominent locations
  3. Spraying all large gathering spaces in between services
  4. Increasing air circulation around campus during gatherings
  5. Ensuring that hand sanitizer and masks are readily available throughout the Church
  6. While not required, we are encouraging all staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers to wear masks when in large settings and unable to practice physical distancing.

As you look through the upcoming events and opportunities below, we pray that you look ahead with excitement for what is to come and the community that we can find in one another. We know that community is hard, especially during times of uncertainty. May God give us the grace to have love for one another "that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith," (1 Timothy 1:5).

Kids Camp!

Can you believe this recap video!? We cannot get enough of Kids Camp, it truly was an amazing week!! There were over 400 kids registered for day and night sessions with 179 volunteers that made it all happen! The kids raised $3,105 for Water Mission and 526 pounds of food for Western Wake Crisis Ministry! In the words of our very own Pastor Zeb, "C'mon Somebody"!

We are so proud of our NextGen team that worked tirelessly to make Kids Camp an incredible Christ-centered experience for our kiddos! If you see the NextGen team be sure to give them a big thank you, a high five... and maybe some coffee as they continue to recoup!
